About Your Postpartum Doula
I'm Kyla, a Postpartum Doula, mother of a compassionate and free-spirited girl, and a fierce and funny boy whom I parent alongside my darling partner Aaron.
I am privileged to live, work, and mother on Wadawurrung land in Lara. I am a live music lover, living room dance party groover, ice cream connoisseur and a lover of mulled wine by the fire. When I am not supporting women you can find me enjoying family camping trips, soaking up the sun at the beach, hiking through the bush, mountain bike riding, kids in tow at the You Yangs or at the local playground. Being out in nature grounds me, energises me, it fills my cup and it fills my heart watching my children explore our natural environment. I love it!
An electrician in my past life, before motherhood completely flipped my world, rearranged my priorities, and cracked my heart open. Oh my, matrescence is a powerful shift!
My personal experiences of birth and postpartum inspired me to pursue professional training and follow my heart to become a doula. I aim to give new mothers the love that I wish I could've given myself postpartum, and provide the support that I longed for.
Women deserve better in so many areas and particularly when it comes to postpartum care. It shouldn’t end at the hospital door or the last midwife visit and should extend far beyond what maternal child healthcare nurses can offer.
Mothers deserve to have their space filled with warmth and love, to feel supported, nourished, and nurtured throughout postpartum. To have their physical, emotional, and mental loads lightened so they can soak up the euphoric bliss of bonding with their newborn baby.
Mothers deserve to be listened to, without judgment, and to have their birth debriefed, because a healthy baby matters, yes, but it really isn’t all that matters. Mothers matter, their birth experience matters, how they feel within themselves, within their relationships, and within postpartum and motherhood matters. I am here for all of the big, heartfelt chats, nothing is off limits.
I believe how you experience postpartum sets the tone for how you experience the first few years of motherhood and I want to see you getting your needs met, and absolutely thriving rather than just scraping through in a cloud of overwhelm.

Thank you for landing here and taking the time to learn about me, I look forward to getting to know you too.

Much love
Kyla xx
